Disability Revolution

Nothing about us, without us.

Disability Revolution is activist movement of people living with disabilities. We demand nothing short of a revolution of thinking, a revolution of programmes, and practices. A revolution where plans and law are in line with the Constitution and South Africa’s international obligations.

Our Focus

Transport

We are fighting for safe, reliable and universally accessible transport, that reaches people with disabilities in informal settlements.

Health

We demand that clinics find delivery points in each health district to minimise the strain and expense of travel to get our treatment. We also demand that we are prioritised at hospitals, and treated with respect.

Dignity

We want to achieve a greater sense of understanding and solidarity within our communities so that the damaging misconceptions and stigmas around disability do not cause barriers in our day to day lives.

Youth in Action

We are not the future, we are now.

Youth in Action is a movement of young activists committed to tackling pressing issues that affect the lives of the youth of today. We organise issue-based campaigns, centred on knowledge sharing, around harm reduction and substance abuse.
